The first made-in-Hong-Kong film was produced in the 1940s, which also marked the start of Hong Kong film industry. The Hong Kong film industry flourished since then. Although the Hong Kong film industry is deemed to be declining, watching movie, no matter local produced movies or movies from other places, is still one of the favorite activities among all the Hongkongers. The movies shown in Hong Kong carry a strong characteristics of Hong Kong culture. Even though the Hollywood movies, they are also localized in some extents. These features are obviously seen from the name of the movies.
